they had an opportunity, just can't make the fundamental plays. orlando scandrick a chance to stop a drive and misses a tackle and another third down situation and he grabs a jersey. this is is what has happened to dallas over and over in the fourth quarter. they just can't make the fundamental play in the fourth quarter to win it. >> now the giants lost at home today. eli manning had an off day. pittsburgh came in and won. we have seen the giants stumble before at mid season. but the question would be -- could any of the other teams in the division take advantage? >> yeah, i believe giants fans are a little bit uneasy today because they have seen this, where the giants have played so well early in the year, but now where they normally are taking advantage of that fourth quarter eli manning game winning drive, they couldn't get it today. just too much pressure on eli and coming back to the pack a little bit. now, dallas blew a golden opportunity tonight to get back to within one game in the loss column.

philadelphia has a big game tomorrow in new orleans that, all of a sudden, is that much bigger. if one of these teams can get going, they possibly can catch the giants. giants have to right the ship. >> but the chances of that seem slim. not the giants righting the ship but the cowboys or the eagles and certainly not washington catching them. you still have to like the giants situation in their division. tony, thanks very much. we turn to mike florio of pro football talk. mike, take us through some of today's most important injuries. >> bob, running back darren mcfadden of the raiders has had several injuries over the course of his career and has another one and suffered ankle injury on sunday in the loss to the buccaneers and his status is reportedly week-to-week. the green bay packers linebacker clay moouts left today's game with a hamstring injury. also receiver jordy nelson came into the game with a hamstring injury and left early with a sprained ankle. for the steelers, receiver antonio brown left the game with an ankle injury and afterward said it's high ankle sprain. i'm told it's not and he can

>> al: you know, that schedule came out before the season and we looked at, okay, november 11th, houston at chicago. the first thing i thought about they never play each other and only met twice since the texans in the league in 2000. you go what kind of a game is that going to be? now we have two teams 7-1, the bears with that crazy defense. this is going to be something next week. >> cris: it's remarkable to watch the bears play defense. they are scoring defensively at a rate we have never seen in the national football league. two more return touchdowns and they will have tied an nfl record and we're sitting there at the halfway point. now they have to go up against an excellent offense.

hit the polls on tuesday. we'll have more on how those rallies could impact maryland voters in a moment. but first, a look at what's going on on the national stage. a look at the candidates' final sunday on the campaign trail in commitment 2012 report. >> with the 2012 campaign virtually tied heading into its final day, republican nominee mitt romney tried to shake president obama's hold on pennsylvania. >> the president thinks more government is the answer. no, mr. president. more good jobs, that's the answer. >> the romney campaign is hoping to claim pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes and redraw the battleground map in the waning hours of this race. but ohio is still looking like the clincher. hours of governor romney was there, the president traveled to the buckeye state to defend his six-point lead. >> who do you trust?

ohio, you know me by now. >> the final nbc poll before the election shows this race is a statistical dead heat. and that increases pressure for both campaigns to get out the vote on tuesday. but first, the candidates are gearing up for one final sprint on the long road to the white house. brian moore, wbal tv 11 news. >> and the push to the polls continues here in maryland where thousands turned out for early voting. local groups continue to work to influence voters 48 hours before the election. sara sampson joins us with more. >> the intensity of this election is showing no signs of letting up before tuesday. here in maryland the debate is particularly heated over ballot questions regarding the green act, same sex marriage and gambling. one expert says those issues are the ones that will be sending voters here to the polls. with just two days before

maryland voters decide the fate of the dream act, the one thing you won't catch supporters doing is sleeping. >> we need of our best and brightest going to an through college so they can produce and give back and pay taxes. >> they fwathered at baltimore freedom academy to rally support for the bill that would allow illegal immigrants living in maryland to pay in-state rates for maryland colleges. a group rallying for same-sex marriage. >> we'll have people out near the polls talking about question six. >> but don morris said the last minute information probably isn't going to make a difference. >> maybe these folks can have the volunteers, can have some impact on getting the vote out among people who already have their minds made out.

in terms of changing minds or affecting the outcome of the election, generally that's not the keas. >> usually it's the top of the ticket that drives voters to the polls. in this case, the race for president. but here in maryland, few would dispute president obama will almost certainly win the state's electoral votes so turnout here could hinge on statewide ballot questions. >> we've got at least three ballot questions that are very emotional in nature. they could drive turnout. >> this election has seen record turnout for early voting. almost 12% of eligible maryland vote verse cast their ball los. norris is wary of any predictions from those numbers. >> we don't have evidence nationwide from studies that early voting makes a difference in overall turnout, turnout among subgroups or the results of an election. >> now if you weren't part of the 12% that voted early, the polls open tuesday at 7:00 a.m. and will stay open until 8:00 p.m. reporting live in the news room, sara sampson, wbal tv.

>> under investigation at this hour, an accident between a car and light rail train. 11 news was on the scene just after the crash at howard and lombard streets. no word on injuries or who was at fall there. meantime, police are investigating three sunday shootings all of which happened within six minutes. the first at edgecomb circle, where a man was shot in the back. the victim walked into an area hospital just after 3:00 a.m. just minutes later, officer responded to a second shooting in northwest baltimore, the 2800 block of rosslyn avenue where they found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the arm. a third man was also shot in the arm in the 2300 black of evergreen. all victims are expected to be eck. we're also getting word of a man shot in the 3100 block of arvon place and a man shot on

west fayette street. while there's plenty of work to be done tonight this sunday was one of remembrance for the baltimore police department. officers, family, an friends gathered at the fraternal order of police to honor those lost in the line of duty. the new city police commissioner served as keynote speaker. he said he decided to throw out his speech and speak from the heart. >> tonight we honor those heroes, those people who personified valor, courage, bravery, not just words but things to live and die by. on bhf of the men and women of the baltimore police department, on behalf of the men and women across this united states who wear uniforms, we stand and salute. we stand in praise. >> 125 officers have been killed on the job since the foundation of the city police department.

a big sigh of relief for ravens fans coming off the mid season bye. the team went into cleveland and won their 10th consecutive game against the browns. rookie quarterback ended with less than 250 passing yards. ray rice put the team on the board. ravepes finished the quarter 14-0678 the bruns refused to quit. they led part of the fourth quarter, 15-14. dutton -- drawton accounted for all points. the ravepes come through with a win, 25-15 over the browns. more highlights after the show in the ravens wrapup. still ahead a tradge exend to a mother-son trip to the zoo. how a 3-year-old boy ended up inside an exhibit of wild dogs. that story coming up. >> the weather word tonight is cold. there's also a rumor about a big storm developing.

philadelphia zoo into a pack of painted dogs. officials tried to get the boy out but he had been mauled to death. >> veterinarians arrived and tried to scare the cogs -- dogs away from the young child with darts and were unkelf. the -- unsuccessful. all the dogs were eventually brought into the barn, into the backup barn, except one, which the police shot, so we did lose one dog. >> the park is closed until further notice. how the boy fell remains under investigation. >> today we had a lot of sunshine and the clearing skies lasted into the evening hours. now a little cloud deck has moved in and temperatures have gone up a couple of degrees since then. showing up on radar, weather to our south, coastal rains in the carolinas and a storm to the west. this may be problematic for us by about wednesday or so.

it's going to take a long way around to get here and i'll talk more about that in a min. let's look at the temperatures we had during the day today. a little chilly, 51 the high at the airport, typically we should be around 61 at this time of year. the morning low this year was just above freezing and we could be close to that overnight tonight as well. it depends on what the clouds are leek around daybreak in the morn, or a couple of hours before that while the clouds are in there, it may be hard to get the temperatures to drop. you can see the readings have gone up since the clouds moved in. indianapolis 4 . stars are clear at ocean city. parkton, 36. frederick, 41. it's in the 20's in far western maryland. still on the ground, helping refrigerate things a little bit. you see the cloud deckover head. some of this cloudiness being helped by this disturbance to the south. if we get break the temperatures could really tumble tonight.

but what's of prime interest to us, not the storm to the south of us but the storm out to the west. it's going to be caught up in the jet stream and eventually wind up on the east coast as potentially a big storm and depending on how close to the coast it is, we could have another ride with some wild weather about wednesday or so. but our forecast tonight a quiet one. clouds and clearing, i fwess, would be the best way to put it. the colder readings if it clear, the slightly warmer readings if the clouds stick around. freeze warnings are out because of the potential to get down to freezing. winds light northerly, 2 to 7 miles per hour. the purple shaded areas, cecil county, harper county an others are under that warn, including the eastern shore for the daybreak hours tomorrow. during the day tomorrow, 48 to 52 the high. another day where temperatures are below average.

mostly sunny skies. on the chilly side. night yeft -- northwest winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. about the storm in the western part of the u.s. there's a southern jet and a northern jet a pelar jet. this storm is riding the polar yet. it's going to take a nosedive down into florida and come up the coast. when this storm gets pushed down to the bottom where the jt takes the turn and spins up. gives it energy like a whip being cracked. here's what will happen with that. here's the storm. rides the jet stream to the south. down around florida. gets the spin up there, comes up the coast. then we have a situation, how close to the coast will this be? one computer model, the european model, has it awfully close, this would be a troublesome forecast. the other computer model has it far enough offshore that we wouldn't be affected at all. the two main models have differing ideas how this thing

will behave. the european is slower move, more rain, maybe snow involved but at least the winds, the strong winds wouldn't be as widespread. we'll have to see what happens with this. here's the seven-day forecast. 50 tomorrow, 48 on election day. election day still dry. we'll just peck up clouds at the end of the day. the craziest day probably will be wednesday. the highest rein chance, windiest conditions, maybe snow on thursday and the rain will taper off. >> this is 11 sports. >> ravens wrap up and the rest of the record setting day on the way. we do a little championship soccer, women's soccer. facing u.v.a., that's what they're playing for. the championship trophy. gloria douglas for virginia. that's a beautiful rocket into the far corner. perfectly placed. 1-0, woo haos. cavaliers controlling it.
